Kibble ("we", "our", "the app") is a pet nutrition app that helps pet owners make informed food choices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text.
Pet Profile Information: You provide information about your pet including name, species, breed, age, weight, gender, health conditions, allergies, and dietary preferences. This information is used solely to personalize nutrition scoring.
Scan Data: When you scan a pet food, the photo is sent to our AI analysis service (powered by OpenAI) to identify the product and analyze its ingredients. Photos are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers after analysis is complete. Scan results (scores, grades, analysis text) are stored in your account so you can access your history.
Feeding Data: If you use the meal logging feature, we store records of when you log meals. This data is used to display your feeding history and streak.
Vet Documents (Pro feature): If you upload veterinary documents, these are stored securely in your account. The text content is extracted to personalize food scoring. These documents are only accessible by you.
Weight Logs: If you log your pet's weight, these entries are stored in your account to track changes over time.
Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and improving the app experience.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled. This means your data is only accessible to your authenticated account. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

Kibble is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The app contains links to third-party retailers (such as Chewy and Amazon) where you can purchase pet food. These may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay. Affiliate relationships do not influence our nutrition scoring in any way — scores are based solely on nutritional analysis.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
